Cancer Update 06-10-2014

May 15, 2018

Just wanted you all to know that I did receive a call from the doctor (or rather his nurse) that we will be starting chemotherapy on Monday. Probably. I won’t actually know until Monday because it is dependent on how many beds open up on the cancer floor that day. If there are enough beds open, they will be able to admit me on Monday. If not, I would need to wait until Tuesday. So if it’s not Monday, definitely Tuesday. I will be receiving the R-ICE combination of chemo drugs, so I will be admitted to the hospital for approximately three days for the administration of the chemo.

I am glad we are starting chemo. After they called, I wanted to shout, “Yippee!” One of my coworkers thought I get excited over the strangest things! I guess I do. But the main reason why I’m glad is because I am no longer feeling as well as I had been. The shortness of breath, chest pain, and cough is getting worse. So the sooner we start chemo the sooner my symptoms will clear up. And I guess I don’t dread chemo because I had such clear sailing last time.

On Monday the doctor will also discuss the schedule of the next few months with us. Stay tuned….
